Country Mouse in the City, Part One: Nolita
It was a little crowded around the dinner table with all these guys hanging about. |
I love exploring new places, and the neighborhoods of New York City are overflowing with hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered. And so, I've decided to document my adventures around this fair city, including both fabulous finds and unfortunate failures, to be fair.
For my first installment of Country Mouse in the City (A Beginner's Guide to the Big Apple), I decided to wander around north of Little Italy, aka Nolita, in Manhattan.
Clockwise from L to R: map of Nolita; the places I intended to visit; notepad from Cafe Gitane; menu from The Butcher's Daughter; postcard from Cafe Gitane |

The Faces of WWF
*pictures featured above were taken by Small Fry, Mer-Mag, Heart and Habit, and This Little Street
We've been getting some adorable press lately! We love how blogs are taking their own pictures of children in our clothes! Not only does it give them the ability to judge our clothing in person, but it makes for some really sweet shots.
These are just a few of our recent WWF love - there are more over at our Pinterest "featured" board.

Visiting the Factory
Just like our clothing tags read, all of our products are 100% certified organic cotton and made in the USA. We thought the "made in the USA" bit might be fun if we gave our customers a peek into what that means. So on one of our many factory visits - where our clothes are made, we decided to take some pictures of the process. Pictured above is the final product, but it doesn't start off that way...
We usually print our fabric to order, but always have a little extra,
just in case - and in this case, for the solid colors, we had to do a
whole dye lot for each color, so we've got a lot of extra! This will all be t-shirts one day...
Our fabric is laid out to be cut into pieces for rompers. I love the old equipment they use - it runs along a rail at the edge of the cutting table, and makes it really easy to spread out wide fabrics from a roll.
